General Navigation.

Being able to navigate is a standard requirement for anyone who heads out into the bush. Everyone who goes on walks should carry good quality topographic maps which cover where their going and a good quality compass and know how to use them. The carrying of a GPS should be considered. Many people find themselves off the track or on the wrong side of a ridge or spur and most make it back but some people fail to get back and then have to be found by Search personnel. Once you know how to Navigate through the bush this can be one of the most important pieces of knowledge you may have and it could save your life!
