Mt. Bogong, Victoria's highest peak sits at 1986 Metres above sea level. This is another of Victoria's very popular walking destinations and in good weather you can find yourself just sitting and soaking in the views from top. The summit is large and open and you could camp here but the weather can turn very nasty.

Looking south-east you can clearly see Mt. Feathertop rising out of the haze. Just to the west is the west peak with Little Mt Bogong sitting below and many walkers take the time to head out and take a look. Heading south can be seen a row of snow poles which continue on past Cleve Cole Hut and join the Alps Walking Track.

Looking East you can see Eskdale Spur rising up past Michelle Hut and onto Eskdale Point. One of the most popular ways onto the top is coming up the Staircase past Bivouac Hut. This complete area is open and exposed and in bad weather could be a nightmare and Hell Gap doesn't get its name by mistake. There is no water on the top but water is available at Cleve Cole Hut or down at Camp Valley near Howman's Falls.
